During hurricane emergencies
the Pet Nanny Resort functions as a pet hurricane shelter, allowing
families that must evacuate from their homes to find safe haven
for their pets. During hurricanes Charlie and Frances, Arlene
Wilson and her family boarded up and made the Pet Nanny Resort
their home while they provided shelter and comfort for the many
animals that were left in their care.
Because of the large numbers of pets the Pet Nanny Resort cares
for during this type of emergency, the pets must be kept in
cages, however they are let into the play areas in rotating
groups so they have plenty of time to exercise, play and relieve
stress. The following pictures were taken during hurricanes
Charlie and Frances.
